Rear Disc Brake Kit for Smart Roadster + ForTwo 450 & 451 upgrade standard drums
Rear disc kits for Smart Roadster and Coupe 2003 - 2006 and ForTwo 450 & 451 1999 - 2014. Replaces rear drums with new discs, same as front, fitted using stainless steel bracket and handbrake adjusters.
When tested at an MOT centre, on both foot brake and handbrake exceeded MOT requirements. Even on handbrake they were capable of'locking out' the test system. There is a video on YouTube simply search Rear Disc Brakes on Smart Roadster.

Photos show the kit, the kit fitted on Roadster Coupe with 16" wheels, then on a 450 Cabrio with 15" wheels - matching the original (not included) front discs in the photos.
CHOICE OF CALIPERS: The last 2 photos show shiny Cast Iron calipers which fit under pressed STEEL WHEELS, the only wheels we've identified as needing them for clearance. Cast Iron calipers are 600g heavier than Aluminium ones. Let us know, when ordering, if you would prefer Cast Iron calipers as Aluminium calipers will be sent. The complete Rear Disc Kit adds less than 7Kg to the total weight of the car with Aluminium calipers or 8Kg with Cast Iron calipers. The kit dramatically increases the braking balance of the cars and improves the handbrake beyond imagination!
